How To Overcome First-Kiss Jitters

Arrange to have that first kiss in a fun or playful way. Just as a spur of the moment kiss. Or, under the mistletoe. Have the first kiss in a non-threatening way.
Get close enough to the other person so that your feelings take control. Get within kissing distance, one foot or less. Get so close you can feel their body heat.
Simply ask for the kiss.
Most men say they take their cue about kissing from the woman, usually from observing her behavior toward them. How long has kissing been around?

Surprisingly, there is very little information on kissing to answer this question. Kissing may have its roots in early religious rituals. Some claim the existence of an early religious belief that the air we exhale had a magical power and contained one's soul. During the religious ceremonies, participants used a form of the mouth kiss to exchange breath. The kiss could also be a refinement of nose rubbing. But of all the theories on the origins of kissing, the one that gets the most votes from researchers is as follows: It may be a natural evolution from our birth instinct to suck our mothers breast for nourishment. Or, to put it in another way, it is simply a continuation of our desire to be breast-fed. So, what this theory says is that kissing is nothing more than satisfying a feeling of hunger. The truth of the matter is that any theory is merely speculation.

Credit for developing the kiss into a romantic gesture is given to the country of India. At approx. 1500 B.C. the Kamasutra was created. Kissing occurred in the Roman Empire at the nuptial kiss at the alter. It was said to symbolize the union of man and woman as they exchanged "the breath of life." During medieval times in Europe, you kissed on the ground or on the foot of religious figures. This is where the phrase "I kiss the ground you walk on" originates.

One French law declared that a woman was guilty of adultery if she kissed or allowed herself to be kissed by any man other than her husband. An Italian law said if a man kissed a girl in public, he could become obligated to marry her. Also, the kiss was used to seal legal contracts between men. Thos who could not sign their name would draw an "X" on the signature line and then kiss it. This would then make a binding contract.

The term "French Kiss" came into the English language in 1923. It was actually considered a slang term or slur on the French culture, which was thought to be overly concerned with sexual matters.

The First Kiss-in a lifetime of shear bliss

The goal; is to deliver an impressive first kiss and avoid any awkward moments. There is no right way to kiss or to have your first kiss be a complete success. We have given you the basics, it's up to you to provide the enthusiasm and dedication to be a truly great kisser.

You know you want to kiss someone because you have been thinking about it for most of the evening. Unless the lucky person is a mind reader, nothing will happen until you make the first move.
Try either holding the person's hand, walking arm-in-arm, sitting close, offering a neck massage. If you sense disapproval, smile, stop what your doing and start a light conversation. You have not put yourself in a scary position. Reevaluate the situation.
If he/she is responding positively to your touching, the next step is to position yourself so that you'll feel comfortable kissing your partner. if you choose to hold your partner, make it non-threatening.
Try establishing eye contact. If eye contact is sustained, move to the next step.
If you feel comfortable and have eye contact now is the time to move in for your kiss. As you move closer check to see if they are moving closer to you. If not move back a little to re-examine the situation.
With a positive response from your partner, it's time to have that romantic kiss. Remember, no tongue.
I f you initiated the kiss, you should be the one to end the kiss. Don't do it abruptly, just move away slowly and kiss again. If your partner seems hesitant, just stop.
The French Kiss

You have been kissing for awhile, it is time to try the "French Kiss". Gently touch your partners lips with your tongue. If you meet resistance, stop and continue kissing. If you meet resistance it doesn't mean rejection, it could be that they want you to hold back for now. Many women don't want to kiss during the first kiss. They want to get to know you better. If there isn't any resistance, go ahead and enjoy the moment. Always French Kiss slowly at first and pick up intensity as you get caught up in the moment. Feel your partners tongue with yours in a gentle and caring way. Never end a session of French Kissing abruptly, always kiss your partner with a soft, tender kiss. Future kisses will never be the same as the first, make every effort to make it wonderful memory.

How long should I kiss?

Try to make each kiss last for at least three minutes at a time. Most people enjoy a kissing session to last for at least 20 minutes to a half hour. And the good news is you can have as many of these sessions as you want.

How to banish bad breath-
